A Team Prayer for Maggie, by Gerry McCarthy:
MAGGIE
As a little girl she was nicknamed Magpie
With a beautiful smile and those big blue eyes
Though she may have been dealt a hand tough to win
She lived her life by going all in
Maggie you could say was small in stature
With a personality that had the ability to capture
And a spirit so bold you could not deny it
With enough courage and strength to belong to a giant
Magz would want us to remember the fun
The Red Sox World Series and the Super Bowl runs
The times that she shared with her family & friends
I hope the stories to be told never will end
Now Matt & Janet should truly be proud
Just take a look at the size of this crowd
The values and love in the little girl they nourished
Grew into a soul that really did flourish
So I’m proud to stand here & say that I knew her
To say she was special no words could be truer
And if we all take away just a few of her traits
This world that she left us could be a much better place
